An A-B-C letter to my daughter on Women's Day
Dear Daughter,
You may not understand this now, but when you enter your teens and move forward in life, Hold this A-B-C letter close to your heart. An A-B-C mantra to be the Woman of the future...Here Goes :
A for Alert,Active and Adventurous, Be All these adjectives and make me proud
B for Breasts and Breastfeeding....As a Woman and A Mom, Give them great importance always
C for COMPARISON, NEVER do this ! There will always be some woman, your friend, your sisters or in in-laws, who will have everything that YOU dont have...Never Say, 'Oh she's Lucky she can get up anytime, she has maids for cooking, oH ! She doesnt have a job, or she has her mother to help her".. STOP ! Never Compare...Some Women are BLessed, because NOTHING in this world comes for free, NOT EVEN HAPPINESS. It is their genuine GOOD deeds, they did in this life or Past life that GOD has been KIND to them..So, COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS ONLY...not others blessings.
D for Dream, Dream BIG Always !
E for Emotional Energy, Choose where your ENERGY goes..
F for Fearless Feminist, Be FEARLESS whatever the situation
G for Gender,be that futuristic women of the world who will never care for Gender Bias
H for Home, make one with the one you love and fill it with immense joy and happiness
I for I,thats YOU..never understimate and Do put yourself first whenever necessary
J for Jealousy, Don't waste time being jealous of anyone, REMEMBER the Grass is greener where You water it, not on the OTHER SIDE !
K for Kilos, dont care for them, they come and go, love your body for whatever it is
L for Love, you will know what is love and all its forms, embrace it always
M for Marriage, it is not necessary, but if you want to, no questions asked
N for NEW AGE woman, be one
O for Ovi,your name, which we lovingly named you, and yours to make it known and shine brighter
P for Periods,its a monthly cleansing by our body,nothing to be embarrased about
Q for Queen, be one, in every sense of the word
R for Respect, Give it and Command it
S for Soulmate,you will know when you meet yours
T for Trailblazer, be that one who paves the way for others
U for Unite, unite with other women in the world for a greater cause
V for Voice, voice your opinions,loud and clear, but remember to make sense
W for Woman,and her many forms,Respect her in every form
X for Xmas, celebrate all festivals and don't care which caste or race they belong to
Y for You, you are the masterpiece that me and your dad created, always take pride where you came from and don't ever lose your identity.
Z for Zero Tolerance towards any Abuse or nonsense thrown in the way of your Progress
My dearest daughter, Although you are very young to understand this A-B-C letter, at 10 you may think it's a poem, at 20 it May sound preachy, at 30 a life lesson, at 40 you will tell this to your kids and at 50 you will nod your head to every line.. But I want you to know I love you regardless of what you do in your life and I'll be your rock whenever you need me
